Build A Website Blog

Checking IP Addresses

If you have built your website, you are now working on your marketing and promotions.

This is generally the time you are spending trying to get link partners, submitting your sites to search engines, buying ads and waiting for the dough to start rolling in.

One of the key activities the search engine optimizers tell you to do is to get other websites to link to you.  In order to do that, you need to, generally, link back to the website you are requesting a link from.

This is also known as reciprocol linking.

I don't know whether reciprocol linking has much value any longer, but many webmasters still do it.

One little known aspect of getting inbound links is that you don't want a bunch of links from the same website, or websites using the same IP address.

I came across this little tool the other day.

It's purpose in life is to give you the DNS and IP information about any website you plug in.  You can plug in bulk info, and get bulk reports.  It's pretty slick and worthwhile to make sure you don't get any penalties from the almighty SE's!

Enjoy!
