More Google Domain Registrar Rumors

The forums are now buzzing about Google's motives for becoming a domain registrat. In this article, 8 days ago, I answered that.
You'll find the
Google Becomes ICANN Registrar article there.
As I've stated previously, I don't bill myself as a full-time SEO. I do SEO work for fees from referred clients, mostly small and medium companies and marketers. But I'm not interested in the big company business.
I did that in my last job and frankly, that's how I got to where I am as a solo now. As a former GM of a high-end Interactive Agency, I managed and worked with 4 full time staff who did nothing but SEO.
So I know a thing or two and have been at it now for 4 years.
A man I admire, and top SEO consultant Andrew Goodman, speculates today on
Google's registrar motives. I applaud Andrew for his willingness to "take them at their word". However, having also been a VP of a public F500 company, I can say with experience, because of SEC regulations, what you don't say is often more telling that what you do, and you better be careful with every word that is spoken publicly. All public companies have in-house lawyers and PR execs to screen every interview, every comment etc. that is publicly spoken so they don't get sued by shareholders.
Since the Google spokesperson didn't say they were going to correlate Whois data, legally now, I still hold to my statement of 8 days ago and will do so until it's proved otherwise.
Meanwhile, you better buy Godaddy's Privacy service if you're going to cross link your websites! Or don't do it at all, which is the wiser move!
