Keep Your Website Up

One of the most significant things you can do to help your website to
accomplish your business goals is to ensure your website stays up. Or,
put another way, to make sure you prevent your website from going
"down".
There are dozens of companies who provide automated website monitoring services. The way it works is pretty simple.
They have an agent, or software robot, that visits your website. The agent checks the HTTP header to make sure it loads properly. If it does, the agent considers your website "up".
If the HTTP header doesn't load properly, which is usually a sign of a "down" or extremely overloaded web server, the service can page, call or email you with alerts. Usually with the paid service, you can specify the frequency of how often the agent checks your website, from every minute to hourly.
These companies charge reasonable fees for the service and you get the comfort of knowing that you get notified any time your website is down.
There are also several of these types of services who perform website monitoring for free. Most free services will only check your website every hour, which is more than I check my websites, so that's great for me.
I have several of my websites monitored by such service companies. Yesterday I found a new one and signed up a couple of my newer websites for it. You can too. Go to
http://www.InternetSupervision.comThey will monitor 3 websites free and send you email alerts. What is unusual about Internet Supervision are a couple of things:
1. They'll monitor 3 websites for you. Most free services only do one website.
2. They list their fastest and slowest websites in stack ranked order on other pages of their websites. So you get a free link from them if your website gets on one of those two lists.
3. They're free!
So if you have a website, which I presume you do as a reader of this, you ought to go sign up there and get your free monitoring service. It will certainly help you sleep better!
