oct 10 newsletter
Hi, What a hectic couple of weeks it has been.
Have you had the same experience?
We're not sure what it is - perhaps kids being back in school, major league baseball playoffs (in the US), the USA Presidential Election or what, but time seems to be flying and things are REALLY getting busy!
Hopefully you are busy and productive too!

Windows Tips - File Management
One of the things many Windows users experience is misplaced files on their hard disk. Wow....can we relate to that! The ability to organize and manage your files on the hard disk is paramount to convenience and productivity.
It continues to surprise us how many people don't know about Windows Explorer. In all of the versions of Windows released in the last 5 years, they have a program called Windows Explorer, which is a fairly comprehensive file manager. It's free and already on your system!
Why should you use it?
You probably know that Windows has a default for all file downloads to a folder named "My Documents". While that is a nice thing for Microsoft to have done for us, the My Documents folder is buried under several meaningless layers of other folders.
Launch Windows Explorer by going to Start | Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer
Alternatively, if you have a Windows key on your keyboard, you can simply press that key and the letter E to launch the program.
When Windows Explorer launches, it shows you your computer's resources on the left side. Clicking any of the folders will display their contents on the right.
Our tip for you is to create your own folder / folders under your C drive and then begin to organize sub folders as you would in a real world file folder system.
To do this, highlight the "Local Disk C" under My Computer. Then go up to the File menu, select New, then Folder. You will be allowed to enter your own folder name.
For example, on my system I have a folder named Master. Under that folder exists about 15 other main organized folders, which each contain various documents, web projects, graphics, photos etc.
If you store all your files under that directory / folder, you can easily back up your data, know where to find it and retrieve it easily.
